Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships are a great way of earning whilst learning. They are for anyone over the age of 16 and not already in full-time education.
You can achieve a nationally recognised qualification while being employed with the opportunity to further develop your Maths and English (if required), all while earning a wage.
Qualification
Our apprenticeships range from Level 2 to Level 5 qualifications.
Length of course
Our Apprenticeships usually take between 12 and 24 months to complete, depending on the level and sector.
Location of study
Where apprentices study will depend on their course, but most involve a combination of online and in-person learning in the workplace.
Funding
Apprenticeships are fully funded for the learner.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is an apprenticeship?
An apprenticeship is a job where you earn a wage while you learn. You’ll gain real-world experience, develop skills, and work towards a recognised qualification—all while being paid.
How much will I get paid for an apprenticeship?
You’ll earn at least the apprenticeship minimum wage if you’re under 19 or in your first year of the apprenticeship. Many employers pay more, especially as you gain experience.
Do I have to pay for my apprenticeship?
No, apprenticeships are fully funded by the government and your employer, so you won’t have to pay tuition fees or take out a student loan.
Do I need to go to college as part of my apprenticeship?
This depends on the apprenticeship. All apprenticeships include a certain amount of off-the-job training, which is usually around 6 hours per week. This doesn’t always mean going to college; it can include online workshops, training sessions, shadowing colleagues, project work, and other activities that are different from your normal day-to-day duties.
What do the different levels of apprenticeship mean?
At Poultec, we deliver four levels of apprenticeship:
- Intermediate (level 2) equivalent to GCSE
- Advanced (level 3) equivalent to A-Level
- Higher (levels 4 and 5) equivalent to Foundation Degree
Will I get a job at the end of my apprenticeship?
Many apprentices are offered a permanent job with their employer after completing the programme. Even if not, you’ll finish with valuable skills, experience, and a qualification to help you progress.
How do I apply for an apprenticeship?
You can view all our current vacancies on our apprenticeship page. If you can’t find what you’re looking for there, you can also apply through the government’s Find an Apprenticeship service or directly with employers who offer apprenticeships.
