Poultec Poultry Apprentice Wins Top Award
One of our apprentices has been recognised for her hard work, ambition and innovation, making a positive difference to the poultry industry by winning a top award at a ceremony in London.
Stephanie Pedrick of Hook2Sisters Ltd stood out from over 400 poultry learners to scoop the Poulters Poultry Trainee of The Year Award. The Worshipful Company of Poulters is one of the Livery Companies of the City of London. The Poulters’ Prize is awarded to someone who has made a substantial contribution to poultry production.
Stephanie started her career in the industry in 2018 as a Hatchery Operative quickly learning everything that goes into hatchery operations, from egg handling to making sure every chick was up to standard. In 2022, she moved on to broiler farms and took on the role of Poultry Welfare Compliance Manager for Hook2Sisters where she was committed to exceeding welfare and audit compliance standards. She was promoted to Area Manger in 2024 where she currently oversees 10 company-owned farms and helps to support multiple contract farms in the South West.
Stephanie’s contributions to the industry have already been widely recognised, including winning the Zoetis Poultry Trainee Award in 2023. She achieved distinctions in her Level 2 and 3 Poultry Production Apprenticeships with Poultec.
About the award win, Stephanie said: “Throughout my career, I’ve always been driven by a desire to do better, whether it’s improving operations, finding new solutions, or just making sure our birds are as healthy and well-cared-for as possible. I’m proud of the progress I’ve made and the recognition I’ve received, and I’m excited to keep pushing forward and making a difference in the poultry industry. Winning the Poulters Award is a fantastic acknowledgment of that journey.”
With her focus on continuous improvement, Stephanie is now working towards further qualifications, including an ILM Level 3 Diploma in Management with Poultec, and a course in Poultry Science at Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC).
