Our Hospitality and Catering Study Programme equips you with essential skills and knowledge to thrive as a chef, whether you’re aiming to start your culinary journey or advance into a senior chef role.

You will be working alongside others in a classroom setting led by expert tutors, whilst also making use of our purpose-built cookery studio at our Mattishall site. The studio has individual workstations and you will be assigned your own which will be fully-equipped. Your learning will be recorded on an easy-to-use e-portfolio platform.

Highfield Level 2 Certificate in Hospitality and Catering Principles (Food Service)

This Study Programme equips you with the essential knowledge needed to excel in the food service industry, a dynamic and high-pressure environment. The programme covers a wide array of topics and is conducted in our fully equipped cookery studio offering hands-on experience in preparing various dishes.

Units include:

• Safe, Hygienic and Secure Working Environments in Hospitality
• Effective Teamwork
• Giving Customers a Positive Impression
• Principles of Food Safety for Catering
• Principles of Customer Service in Hospitality Leisure Travel and Tourism

The course will also offer:

• Functional Skills Maths (if required)
• Functional Skills English (if required)

Entry Requirements:

You must be between the ages of 16-18. There are no formal academic entry requirements; however, an initial selection interview is mandatory.

Progression Opportunities:

There are opportunities to continue your studies in further education such as an Apprenticeship or to gain full-time or part-time employment.

Costs:

If you are 16-18 there are no course fees payable, however you may have some costs associated with uniform, equipment etc.
