Apprenticeships
Engineering
We deliver Engineering Apprenticeships in a variety of engineering companies within Norfolk. You will work with other engineers within the company completing on-the-job training. Our experienced tutors will visit monthly to accompany the study side of the Apprenticeship teaching and developing new abilities and knowledge in engineering. Our tutors will also set written work via an online portfolio for the Apprentices to complete in-between visits.
In addition, you will be invited to attend workshops at Poultec Engineering Centre in Norwich. In these sessions you and other engineering Apprentices will carry out practical work led by your tutor in our three workshops which are kitted out with custom-built, specialist and professional equipment helping to develop your engineering skills.
The Apprenticeship is tailored to ensure it suites your job role/ place of work. You could carry out a range of engineering operations which could include ensuring machines and equipment used are maintained and serviceable, dealing with breakdowns, restoring components and systems to serviceable condition by repair and replacement; operating a variety of machines and much more.
Following an Engineering Apprenticeship there are opportunities to continue your studies with a higher Apprenticeship or it could become an engineering craftsperson or technician in your particular industry. You could also specialise, for example in CNC machining, welding or heavy vehicle mechanics.
