Apprenticeships
Equine
We deliver Equine Apprenticeships throughout Norfolk and Suffolk on yards from stud farms to welfare charities. You will work for an employer gaining on-the-job training. Our experienced tutors will visit monthly to accompany the study side of the Apprenticeship teaching and developing new skills and knowledge. Our tutors will also set tasks via an online portfolio for the you to complete in-between visits.
Additionally, you will be invited to attend off the job visits to equine professionals and organisations for talks and tours these will provide you with extra knowledge and broaden your understanding of the equine industry.
The Apprenticeship will be tailored specifically to the type of yard you are working on. You will be completing tasks such as best practice in the care and handling of horses, preparing horses for public appearance, tacking up and preparing horses for exercise, all day-to-day routines to ensure high standards of horse welfare and workplace health and safety.
Following the Equine Apprenticeship there are opportunities to continue your studies with a higher Apprenticeship or you could become head groom, traveling groom or yard manager/owner.
