Award-Winning Butchery Apprentice Recognised at National Event

Poultec Training Ltd is proud to announce that Daniel Powell, one of our dedicated butchery apprentices, has been named Best Retail Butchery Apprentice 2025 at the Institute of Meat (IoM) and Worshipful Company of Butchers Annual Prizegiving. The prestigious event was held at Butchers’ Hall in London on 27th February.

Recognising Excellence in Butchery Apprenticeships

Daniel, who works with Priors of West Lynn Ltd, competed against butchery apprentices from across the UK. He was presented with his certificate of achievement by Institute of Meat (IoM) Chief Executive, Keith Fisher (F.Inst.M), and John Allton Jones, Master of the Worshipful Company of Butchers. As part of his award, he also received a £250 prize and a year’s honorary membership of the Institute of Meat.

This long-standing event is a key fixture in the meat industry calendar, celebrating the achievements of apprentices, training providers, and employers who are committed to butchery skills development. Nominations are carefully reviewed by IoM and industry experts, ensuring that only the most dedicated apprentices receive recognition.

Keith Fisher (F.Inst.M), a fourth-generation Master Butcher, commented:
