Poultec Excellence Awards 2011
On Wednesday 22nd June Poultec Training Limited held their annual Excellence Awards at their head office, South Green Park in Mattishall, and what an event it was!
The Ceremony took place to recognise the hard work and commitment for a group of learners from across the country. It drew managers and staff from a wide range of successful companies and organisations throughout the region including speakers from Heinz, Banham Zoo, the Association of Colleges for the Eastern Region and LANTRA, the Sector Skills Council for land based and environmental industries.
Awards were presented for 6 categories which included Management, Business Admin and ICT, Agriculture, Food Manufacturing, Hospitality, Customer service and Retail and Skills for Life. This year’s awards saw some excellent candidates who had gone that extra mile to achieve their qualifications such as an NVQ or Apprenticeship.
One example of the commitment, effort and dedication recognised by the awards was Rungnapha Douthwaite. Originally from Thailand, and unable to read or write her own language, she arrived in the UK 9 years ago with no qualifications. However despite a personal battle with Leukaemia, she completed Poultec’ s ESOL for Citizenship course and she is now aiming to achieve an Adult Literacy course with Poultec as well as an NVQ in Hospitality.
Paul Garwood, HR & Training Manager talked about the benefits of training including better staff morale, retention and the subsequent economic savings to companies. All of the winners and finalists were praised by Poultec’s Training Director and Speakers, who were genuinely proud for the learners’ achievements and hard work. A big thank was also said for the Poultec staff for all of their hard work and efforts to help learners achieve the highest of standards.
