Poultec Training Launches Young Poultry Apprenticeship Academy
Poultec Training have officially launched their 1st Young Apprenticeship Academy in the East of England after the inaugural meeting of the project steering group at their training centre at South Green Park, Mattishall, Norfolk. Representatives from local poultry producers including Bernard Matthews, Crown Poultry, 2Agriculture, Banham Poultry and PD Hook Group were present to back the project and provide support and guidance.
Poultec Associate Director, Nathan Raines said “it is great to see how the local Poultry industry has come together to back this project as they all have a common objective to increase the number of young people choosing the Poultry industry as a viable and long term career option.”
The project will involve Poultec working with the project partners to create new apprentice positions across the region. The successful applicants will come together on a regular basis for a range of workshops and seminars delivered by industry specialists. The aim will be to develop a group of people with the skills, knowledge and culture necessary to take this vital sector into the future.
Mr Raines added “ the overall plan is to launch other regional academies across England in 2014 in areas such as the West Midlands, Lincolnshire, Humberside and North Yorkshire.”
