Welding

Poultec’s suite of welding courses including Metal Active Gas (MAG), Metal Insert Gas (MIG), Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) and Manual Metal Arc (MMA). All courses are delivered by our highly experienced welding specialist, in the purpose built and fully equipped welding bays at our dedicated engineering centre in Norwich.

Our welding courses range from Level 1 to Level 3 providing training for any level of experience, the training period you need will be dependent on your current skills.

Please note we do not conduct coding tests but can provide the training if you have a trade test coming up.

Cost:

Bays can be hired for up to 10 days and include the instructor, equipment and materials you will need. We can provide specific training to suit your needs too, please note: Stainless steel and aluminium come at an extra cost of £25 + vat per day. VAT will be charged at the current rate.

• 1 day beginners course – £220 + VAT
• 1 day – £250 + VAT
• 4 days – £900 + VAT
• 5 days – £1000 +VAT
• 10 days – £1600 + VAT

Course Requirements:

There are no formal requirements for basic welding, however the duration of training required will be dependent on the individual’s abilities.

Welding for Beginners

Delivered over 1 day

Basic Welding training is ideal for those who require welding training but do not require a coded welding certificate.  Course can be done to cover either MIG/MAG, MMA or TIG process

Course includes:

• Basic theory
• Machine set up
• Producing basic Fillet welds with your chosen process

City & Guilds Level 1 Introduction to Welding MAG/MIG, MMA or TIG

Delivered over 4 days

Courses include;

• Theory
• Machine set up
• Fillet and butt welds in flat (PA) and Horizontal/vertical (PB) Positions

City & Guilds Level 2 Welding MAG/MIG, MMA or TIG

Delivered over 5 days

Course includes;

• Theory
• Machine set up
• Fillet and Butt welds
• Flat (PA), Horizontal/vertical (PB) and Vertical (PF)

City & Guilds Level 3 Welding MAG/MIG/ or TIG

 Delivered over 10 days

Course includes;

• Theory
• Machine set up
• Multi positional welding including overhead
• Pipe and flux cored wire options available
