Our Sport Studies Study Programmes provide you with essential skills and knowledge which are vital for a successful career, whether you dream of being a professional coach, fitness instructor, or pursuing further education in sports science.
You will experience collaborative learning in a classroom setting led by expert tutors and have access to our top-notch sporting facilities at our Mattishall site. You will have full access to our fully equipped gym and outdoor sports field. Plus, through our partnership with Mattishall Golf Club, you will have the opportunity to utilise their state-of-the-art facilities. Your learning will be recorded on an easy-to-use e-portfolio platform.

BTEC Level 1 First Diploma in Sport
Description
These Study Programmes provide a strong foundation in the field of sports and fitness. Through this programme, you will delve into various units within sports studies, gaining valuable knowledge and practical skills essential for success in the field.
Units include:
- Fitness for Sport and Exercise
- Practical Sports Performance
- The Mind and Sports Performance
- Training for Personal Fitness
- Anatomy and Physiology for Sports Performance
- Carrying Out a Sports Related Project
- Facility Operations for Sports and leisure
- Work Experience
- Leading Sports Activities
- Lifestyle and Well-Being
- Injury and the Sports Performer
- Profiling Sports Performance
The course will also offer:
- First Aid Training
- Functional Skills Maths (if required)
- Functional Skills English (if required)
Entry Requirements
You must be between the ages of 16-18. There are no formal academic entry requirements; however, an initial selection interview is mandatory.
Progression Opportunities
There are opportunities to continue your studies in further education such as an Apprenticeship or to gain full-time or part-time employment.
Costs
If you are 16-18 there are no course fees payable, however you may have some costs associated with uniform, equipment etc.
